History of AMNY

Moron : sur la voie de l'urbanisation

Association Moronaise of New York is a non-profit organization independent of any political groups or ideologies. We believe in assembling all good willing Haitians together in order to help their Alma mater. From 1986 to 1989, a group of concerned moronais worked untiredly on behalf of all moronais to found the new corporation. In 1986 a little group has Haiti formed the central cell with Bardel, Bruno, Joseph, Amanel, Lucien, Gerard, Lox, Lucot, Pradel and others. In 1986, with the arrival of Wilson Delille from AJM (Association des Jeunes de Moron in Port-au-Prince), a new lifeline brought new energy to the association.

It was at this time that the Executive Committee has charged Wilson Delille to write a new By-law with different rules aimed to guide the organization in the next decade. This constitution was adopted by the General Assembly under the leadership of its first president Dr. Bardel Belizaire. Pressing ahead, the Executif Committee contacted a lawyer, Joseph Shapiro, who prepared the Foregoing Certification of Incorporation in the State of New York. It was the 11th days of May Haiti 1989.The signees for the New Corporation were Bardel Belizaire, Gerard Balmir, Amanel Vital, and Lucien Michel. From that time, the Association had worked hard for the benefits of all Moronais. It is necessary to mention the names of our previous presidents from 1986 to present, who had worked for the success of the AMNY: Bardel Belizaire, Lucot Belony Gerard Janvier, Herald Similien, Wilson Delille, Ruth Henry, Teressot Fortilus, Madianite Francois.
